Seems like the Canadian price hasn't changed wither. It's stuck at $139 (Canadian).

If Premiere Pro is installed on a Mac with FCS on it, it will be able to play ProRes footage.
For Windows you need this: http://support.apple.com/downloads/Apple_ProRes_QuickTime_Decoder_1_0_for_Windows

Like many, since 4.3 battery life has sucked. I am recharging mid day.
Hopefully, they finally fix the battery.

And when FCS4 comes out it will be a year ahead of CS5. What's your point?
CS6 will be out by then, so what is YOUR point? You think that Adobe is just sitting around waiting to see what Apple comes up with? They have taken the lead while Apple has been focused on iToys.

Changed up the icons a bit since the first of the month. The wallpapers are still on a rotation of about 30 HD natural images however. Most, if not all from interface lift. =)

Hi, I had a look through but can't find what I am after. I have just placed in over 900 books into my itunes. My challenge is that I like everything organised. I am trying to find the list of categories for books that have a nice category display picture and can not find this anywhere. For example, Science Fiction has a category cover and so does history and children's. Anyone that can help would be great.

All this iPhone hype is a bit ridiculous. Remember that the iPhone, when and if it comes out, will be essentially identical to some current SonyEriccson phones, or even the LG Chocolate. Yes, it may have an apple logo on it, but it's almost certainly not going to be significantly new technology.
I have a SonyEricsson d750i candybar phone, and I've seen a friends slider w850i phone. I've also checked out the LG Chocolate. The big difference here is obviously that Apple can integrate a *real* iPod scrollwheel since they patented it. Probably the Apple will borrow a lot from the SE phones though: a "music" button or switch to quickly bring up the iPod-like interface, and hopefully a camera button/slider as well.

just figured I'd point this out now, since it's the first.
This doesn't fit in the 75x75 size or under the 39.1K filesize limit so it won't get counted... sorry.
rules/regulations for avatars in the contest
You can fix it to fit a tar and that'd be fine, but all entries not in the correct format will be disqualified.
and it's also in the rules that it should be a new avatar, not one seen on macrumors before.

In 5 years time, Kindle OS will have a greater market share than android I think.
Kindle will be using android for its OS before 5 years. You can bank on that. Why do you think amazon has their own android app store?

Is this well-veiled sarcasm? If not, you guys are ridiculous.
1) Google does not own the mapping database they use
2) Even if they did, there are multiple geographic/mapping data providers
3) None of them obtained their data by having employees drive around in vehicles... That's an absurd suggestion
Is this well-veiled sarcasm? If not, you are ridiculous. How do you think Google gets its "Street View" data? Here's a hint:

The terms of your contract have not changed.
Does part of the contract talk about early upgrades and how much it will cost? If that has changed, then terms of the contract have changed.

I hope this means we will see HDMI out on the next MacBook Pros.
HDMI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI) is a video/audio output standard that combines DVI video and optical out audio.
Sound familiar?
Yes, the MacBook Pro has both DVI out and optical audio out ports. Use a DVI to HDMI cable and a optical audio cable, and there is no need to have a dedicated HDMI output. In fact, as the MacBook Pro has a dual-link DVI port, it has the ability to power more than 1080p. Combine this with the included Apple Remote for Front Row, and you have yourself a (somewhat expensive) media center (with an unnecessary screen?;) ).

I'm not a one-dimensional eco-freak, but I would like to see more economical cars on the road. ............................
Neither am I. It's just that so many models don't come to the US market although they are innovative and successful in Europe. Mostly hatchbacks, wagons and modern crossovers (e.g. Ford Kuga) are missing. Even premium cars from Mercedes or BMW often come only in quite unattractive versions.
And the engine choices suck because there are so many stupid people here who believe only a V6 or a V8 is a good engine while a TDI or a turbocharged 4 cylinder can have the same or better performance. Especially since you can't drive fast here anyway.

The only electric cars I would consider are the Tesla and Fisker Karma. Personally, mpg does not enter my train of thought when purchasing a car. And it MUST growl when on the throttle ;-)
Why the Volt appeals to me is because 90% of the time I would be driving around in electric only mode as my commute is at most 16 miles. But when I go to the airport, I have that gas engine to keep me going after that initial 40 mile charge is gone.
And unlike the Leaf where it takes 20 hours to recharge on the standard outlet, the Volt takes 8 hours to recharge.

What I've been waiting for is true javascript support for wysiwyg textarea editors. I run a Mac blog site and I have to ask users to use Firefox. It seems a little sucky to do that for a Mac specific blogger site. Since Safari 1.3 Apple said they included the nessesary "hooks" for these editors, but no one has been successful in getting any of them to work in Safari.
I downloaded the latest nightly build of Webkit and it still doen't work :(
Actually, there are a few that do work, mostly commercial like Asbru's editor - http://editor.asbrusoft.com/
The problem is, the support in Safari still isn't brilliant and the other guys like FCK, TinyMCE etc so far aren't willing to work around the bugs knowing that Apple is fixing them in a forthcoming release anyway.

Another BS reply from Jobs...all the tip toe-ing around the questions and answers.
I don't expect him to come out and admit all the bad/evil/unethical things Apple is doing regarding this topic, but he had to come out and say something otherwise people (possibly rightly) will think Apple is evil.
As it was said tons of times, privacy is important. If something is being done to "track" me (no matter what other fancy terms they use for "track" or how much they down play it as some technical necessity) they are still tracking me. Period. Where that data goes and how it's used and how I am tracked should 100% be written in plain English before purchasing said product.
We're not idiots...of course the iPhone needs to figure out where I am when I ask Google to locate me on a map...or explicitly allow an app (like AroundMe) to identify restaurants within 15 miles of my location. But to constantly track me every single minute of the day is just wrong. Period. End of story.
Very likely this Federal lawsuit will pave the way for much clear disclosure by companies regarding tracking our physical movements.
