On IE7 I just tried to vote a post "up" and the counter incremented +2. I then tried to undo this by voting it "down" and the counter incremented +2 again. Now post #50 is at +5, when it should be at +1.
I tried a different post and the expected behavior ensued. Weird.
Edit: And now I just tried this post. I could increment up then down to get to -1, but couldn't change my vote after two instances.

How do I +2 Waloshin's posts?
Well I just tested the theory that I can't -2 that post. :)

Everything on the original iPhone was already in use by other phones. Apple simply combined them all together in one phone and made it simpler to use. It revolutionized yeah, by simply bringing that stuff to the front of peoples minds.
oh so they just 'brought all those things together, and made it easier to use'..
Isn't that just a very ungracious way of saying that Apple introduced a phone the like of which no-one had seen before and thus revolutionized the market then?

What did you guys think about him performing? I love him but I could not BELIEVE that they had him performing there. I never imagined hearing ******* at an apple keynote. Especially when the dj stopped the music when the lyrics were at "******* the police thats how we treat 'em".
I also liked how he changed the lyrics from:
She had hair so long that it looked like weave, then she cut it all off now she look like Eve
to
She had hair so long that it looked like weave, then she cut it all off now she look like Steve.

While I agree with you overall, I think there have been plenty of features that NeXT-Apple has teased, but not ultimately delivered on. "Home on the iPod" is one and "resolution independence" is another, I'm sure there are more but these are two that might actually have mattered to me.
B
I think 'Home on iPod' might be coming in iOS 5.
But yes, Resolution Independence did matter to me a lot. But somewhere, I feel that it might not be the best thing available; but still Mac OS X has better capabilities of displaying content than windows (incl. windows 7) although I really think win8 will be a game changer in this regard; they have had tones of time, now.

by OP D****n, coming here to tell us all that he stole something from Best Buy.
Troll Harder, D****n...
I have half a mind to send a copy of this thread and your deets to the Best Buy you thieved from.
thread archived just in case I decide to.
btw: someone commented that kid would have his pay docked..no he won't. It's illegal to do that in the U.S.
edit: ** out your name so I can't be accused of revealing your personal info in a forum here.
 Good luck getting anywhere with that.

Ladies and Gentlemen of Macrumours, this is from Digitimes, they still owe me a G5 iBook from 2005.
Digitimes = wrong, always wrong.
I agree DigiTimes is very inaccurate with Apple rumors, but probably not the same for other companies-eg. Sony or Samsung.

Interesting that the original post in this thread states that it is indeed an LTE Verizon iPhone. That seems to coincide with the video of the parts that were leaked on youtube a couple days ago, showing a sim card slot on the new phone. I think I read somewhere that LTE phones require a sim card, and also, LTE is capable of simultaneous voice/data. The stars seem to be aligning.
lets hope. I won't be upgrading to iPhone on my VZW line until something better than the iPhone4 I have on my att line is offered.

And yeah Google does record but they at least give you the option to turn it off
This is the point. It doesn't matter which side of the coin you're on regarding privacy. Off means off. On means on.
And if this were RIM, MS, Google or anyone else that had an important feature crippled due to QA, no doubt the ones claiming Apple's innocence here (and decrying everyone else has conspiracy theories) would be the ones laughing at, making theories, getting outraged, etc.
It's not a question of giving Apple a free pass. EVERY company should be liable. And consumers have every right to raise questions.
My goodness - there are threads on this board from people who cry about a one pixel shift in a graphic. Or that their app icon is blurry.
Here's a real issue. An important issue. And some people want to just wipe it under the carpet as a "non issue"

Who is Apple kidding, the ultra-portable market is for *cheap* ultra-portables or for Tablets. If I didn't buy a 7" touch-screen UMPC for $1000, why on earth would I buy a non-touchscreen, ethernetless, 13" envelope-sized "sub-notebook". The price is Pro-line, the lack of screen options, lack of graphics, lack of FW800, lack of ethernet, speaks otherwise. Even a touchscreen would have saved this thing, right now its just an incredibly expensive, thinner, backlit Macbook. I mean, I get it is thin, but are they serious? My MBP is thin enough....
Agreed- this was a real bummer.

You definitely don't want to judge Room by its cover. Disturbing premise.

If I want to revert to apathy from a previously engaged stance, I can't. I have to actively disapprove or actively approve.
That is true. Just make sure you never want to revert to apathy and you'll be fine.
It's also a system that currently serve no purpose whatsoever on these forums. People are worrying about it way too much.

Seing your "adventures", no way I would ever try to do anything on a custom rig...
well i wouldn't say that. it wouldn't be as big of a deal if i was at the machine everyday, then a quick change of a few settings and it's back up. but being away, this is not fun.

store.apple.com is still near crawl levels. It appears you can shop now (the whole system has been sluggish for the past few hours), but at least the products and the deals pages are working. As FC said, the order review still does not work. My errors range from no errors to connection to database problems. Gotta love Thanksgiving!
No problems for me yet. yay I got a good price on an AP express!

I could DEFINITELY see them doing this. It could also be for an iPhone or iTablet.
iTablet I doubt that. That would most likely use an intel chip. iPhone, I think that would be TI chips in there(after all TI makes half the worlds cell phone chips). If you want to see the capabilities of the AMD Alchemy chip just check out the iStaion V43 and T43. This a great 4.3in portable multimedia player than can do GPS, DMBTV, and wifi.

Yes and Palm smartphones and Blackberries never existed before the iPhone.
Name anything that did not build upon previous knowledge.
The 'Apple hasn't invented anything' meme is such nonsense.
Making things usable and desired is probably the biggest invention possible.
And by that what do you mean. iPhones had little impact on phones like the BB Curve
Yeah... And how's that Curve doing?

I don't know why Google is bothering. The Amazon cloud system *should be*/is great and competition enough for iTunes - both in terms of pricing (certainly) and usability (more debatable).
The fact that Android doesn't need an iTunes-esque system to compete with Apple means that they should probably give it up now.
Note: For the fanboys out there, please don't get too excited by this. Amazon's cloud is going to present new and interesting challenges for Apple, I don't think Google's failure to negotiate with the jumped up music industry is necessarily a bad thing, all things considered!
